The UK built environment is undergoing fundamental transformation as project developers, asset owners and finance providers align with national Net Zero commitments, as well as rising expectations from public sector and regulated clients. Apart from the focus on new builds, there is wide recognition that the existing built environment needs significant retrofitting, with c. 80% of the target 2050 net zero built environment already built. Property and infrastructure asset owners and operators are increasingly scrutinising the green credentials of their supply chain as part of their own decarbonisation
